Anna Ladbrook (Secretary)

James Hargest College

Anna Ladbrook is the Graduation Coordinator at James Hargest College, specialising in mentoring students who are at risk of not achieving their potential. She also teaches Media Studies and English. Anna joined IYP after returning from overseas working in Educational Software.

Prior to working at James Hargest College for the last eight years, Anna used her Bachelor of Broadcasting and Communications in a variety of media positions including journalist, newsreader and Breakfast Host.

Anna is passionate about her home province of Southland and what the next generation of leaders has to offer its community. Her social interests include networking, socializing, travel, wake-boarding, boating and hiking.

Anna is a teacher at Southland Girls' High School. She moved to Invercargill in 2007.

Cindy Nielsen (Memberships)

Cindy Nielsen

Cindy is the New Entrant/Year One teacher at Invercargill Middle School where she has worked for 7 years. She previously taught in Gore for 3 years.


Cindy is a part of the children's ministries team at Invercargill Central Baptist Church working with 2-4 year olds.


Cindy has lived in Invercargill most of her life, and is passionate about her hometown.

Jason Kennedy

Jason is an Authorised Financial Advisor and Stockbroker for Craigs Investment Partners, where he has worked for the past five years. His job entails constructing and maintaining investment portfolios for his managed clients, providing advice on Craigs Investment Partners’ KiwiSaver offering, and advising on and executing trades for various investments (shares, bonds, investment trusts, etc) across various global stock exchanges.



Born and raised in Invercargill, Jason gladly returned upon completion of his Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Otago. Outside of work his interests include most sports, socialising with friends and family, and enjoying the outdoors

Jason McLachlan

Jason is the Manager of Steel & Tube for both the Distribution and Stainless divisions in Invercargill.
Jason comes from a Civil Construction background and prior to Steel & Tube, he owned his own building and construction business in Perth Australia, building for various companies including Rio Tinto and BHP, and employing up to 15 people.
Jason has studied and gained extensive experience in Project Management within the Construction Industry, supervising over 40 men on projects worth up to $90 million around Western Australia.
Jason and his young family relocated back to Invercargill last December to be closer to family, and believe there is no better place to bring up children than Invercargill. He is looking forward to converting his Australian son into a “true blue Southern man” one day!
Jason’s interests include his family, the gym, motocross and trail riding, cars, networking, socializing, property development & personal development.

Kim Forsythe (Treasurer)

WHK

Kim is the Marketing Co-ordinator at WHK and has been there for 4 years. Prior to this Kim has been involved in the marketing and sales industry for over 10 years.

She has strong organisational skills and has organised many events and promotions in her various jobs. Born and Bred in Southland, Kim is passionate about the City, is on the Executive Committee for the Musical Theatre Company and was one of the founding members to establish Invercargill Young Professionals.

Kim enjoys spending time with friends, family, playing golf and travel.

Richard Smith (President)

Richard specializes in;

- Matrimonial Law including relationship property
. disputes involving all assets including houses, farms,
. companies and trusts, and disputes arising from the
. breakdown of relationships
- Litigation with an emphasis on criminal and traffic
. cases

Richard was admitted to the Bar in 2005. He worked in Oamaru for two years until moving to Invercargill in March 2007 to take up his employment with Cruickshank Pryde. Richard works in general practice areas of the law but principally Criminal and Family Law.

Rick has been working in the web design industry for years and in 2009 he founded Hambrook Web Design where he helps companies both large and small show the world what they can do by creating websites that showcase their business.

Rick specialises in:
- Developing easy to manage websites
- Everything from tiny websites to online stores and more
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
- Custom website solutions

Rick is also a keen supporter of non-profits.
